When one has a calling…
I think people should understand that there is nothing special about having a calling or healing powers. Some people when they realise that they have a calling, they begin to think that they are superior to others. They forget that, in actual fact they are the ones who are not ordinary. Some people get too excited when they discover that they have tis gift and they approach it with too much expectations. Others believe that they have something special and exclusive, so they can use it to manipulate and control peoples’ lives.
The reason why people behave like this is because we don’t really understand why our ancestors come back to us after death. People are told that because of the powers, they can heal others and be famous or make a lot of money through this.
To have a calling or healing powers:
- Doesn’t mean that a person is special or above others in any way.
- It actually means that you are the one who has a problem and you need to sort yourself out, and when you have finished you can then go back to your normal life.
- It means that your ancestors have problems “on the other side” and there is no glory in that.
- Being a healer means that you have to work hard in solving others peoples’ problems so that your ancestors can be set free.
- All the good that you do while healing other people must cancel whatever burdens are holding your ancestors back.
- Being a healer doesn’t mean that you are entering into something that has never been done before.
- It also doesn’t mean that one is going to be better that other healers in any way.
The problems is that sangomas who reveal this calling to people, tend to give them too much expectations. They will tell you that you will be a powerful healer and people will come all over the world to seek help. This immediately makes a person feel special and forget about clear thinking and reasoning. They promise that they will make it all happen for you.
The truth is, people should be told about the hard work and sacrifice that lies ahead on this journey. People should be prepared for the challenge of trying to solve problems that you cannot see or even understand.
What to do when you discover that you have a calling:
- You need to relax. Stay calm and rational.
- You must be humble in your approach.
- Re- evaluate your relationship with God. Try to understand what is happening in your life.
- Understand that the people around you may not feel the things you are going through.
- Decide whether you want to thwasa or to do it on your own, in which case you will have to find a reliable and trusted sangoma to be your spiritual master. The sangoma can guide you while you to incorporate training into your daily life.
- Expect challenges and hardships during this time because it is never easy and be prepared to give it all.
- Your guides may ask you to refrain from certain things, so you must be willing to accept these changes because once you are done you can go back to your normal life.
- Guides may ask you to stay away from friends, personal relationships or even work.
- Guides ask these things because they mean “something” to them especially in the process of setting them free.
What we don’t understand about the ancestors.
A lot of things we don’t fully understand about the ancestors should not stop you from trying to heal yourself, as long as you do what they ask because they know the reasons why.
- There are a lot of things about death that we will only understand once we die and become ancestors ourselves.
- The things they ask us to do are important to them even if they don’t make sense to us.
- You need to obey and pray that the Lord give you the power to fight the evil and do what is right along the way...
